Introduction
The Britax TriFix is claimed by Britax to be one of their safest and most beautifully engineered group 1 car seat. The TriFix is a group1 car seat, which means it is suitable for use from 9-18kg or 9 months to 4 years. The TriFix is an IsoFix+ car seat and can only be fitted in your car using the Isofix points and the top tether point.
Installation and Safety
The TriFix car seat has been approved to be used in any car which has ISOFIX and top tether anchorage points. (It CANNOT be fitted using the cars 3-point seat belt).
Britax have now introduced a further safety feature called ISOFIX+. ISOFIX+ car seats use the normal ISOFIX system combined with the patented V-Tether, which is a top tether which adds a third anchorage point for extra stability and safety.
In the event of an accident the clever V-Tether system combined with the Britax pivot link system absorbs impact forces in proportion to those generated by the accident, this significantly reduces any forwards or rotational movement of the car seat in this situation, keeping your child safer than ever.
ISOFIX indicators and a top tether indicator confirm that the ISOFIX hooks are engaged and that the top tether has been installed correctly for peace of mind. To disconnect the ISOFIX points, there is an easy to reach release button located at the front of the seat.
The Britax TriFix also uses another safety innovation by Britax called SI-Pad. SI-Pad technology is used in the car seat to act as an impact absorbing barrier to protect your child in the event of a side collision. The car seat has deep, padded and soft side wings for your child'd protection, and the SI-Pads are built into further enhance this feature. SI-Pads are made from energy absorbing material and are built into the side panels of the seat.
Comfort
The TriFix seat is super comfortable for your child, with soft deep padding designed to cocoon and protect your child. TriFix has a height adjustable headrest and harness, which is easy for parents to adjust with just one hand!. There is a 5-point safety harness with performance chest pads. Performance chest pads not only make the harness more comfortable, but are also designed to reduce your child's forward movement in the event of an impact.
The softly padded seat cover on the TriFix can be easily removed without having to interfere with the harness and can be washed on a gentle wash.
The TriFix seat features multiple recline positions, which is great if your child likes to take a nap in the car, and it can be adjusted easily without disturbing them.
