Obaby XI Tandem Pushchair Review

Introduction

The Obaby XI Tandem pushchair is amazingly versatile, it has so many great features to help parents manage life with two children.

The Xi includes two seat units as standard, the second seat is fully removable so the Xi can be used as a single pushchair aswell as a double. The main seat unit is suitable from birth and the second seat unit from 6 months, making the Xi perfect for use with one baby and one toddler.

Practicality and Comfort

The main seat unit of the Xi can be used in the fully lay flat position for baby, with the second seat unit for your toddler positioned in the 'high rider' position which is over the top of the main seat. The double kits seat can also be positioned at the rear of the buggy, behind the main seat. The second seat can be completely removed to allow the Xi to be used as a single pushchair when required. The main seat has multiple recline positions, the second seat cannot be reclined.

The main seat features a padded seat liner, head hugger and harness pads for a super comfy ride. The second seat unit features padded harness protectors. Both seats features a 5-point safety harness to keep your little ones secure, and the main seat has a removable bumper bar for added safety.

Parents will love the large shopping basket on the XI. It is generous in size allowing you to fit all you baby essentials and some shopping too! If your toddler is in the second seat on the rear of the buggy, then their feet will take up some of your shopping basket space.

The main seat unit features a large sun canopy which can be easily removed. The canopy is great for providing shade for your child and offers some protection from the elements. There is no sun canopy for the second seat unit.

The Xi tandem weighs 15kg, it is not the lightest tandem buggy on the market, but its weight makes it feel sturdy for pushing two children.

Manoeuvrability

The Xi is a 3 wheel buggy with 3 air filled tyres. The single front air filled tyre can be locked into place when manoeuvring over rough terrain such cobbles, sand or gravel. When pushing the Xi over smoother terrain have the front wheel in swivel mode for maximum manoeuvrability. The single foam handle bar means you can push and the steer the Xi one handed if you need to. The foam handle bar is height adjustable, making it suitable and comfortable for taller and shorter parents.

Accessories

The Xi comes complete with a raincover which fits easily and securely over both the main seat and second seat, ensuring both your children stay dry. Also included is one foot apron which fits over the child's legs in the main seat unit. The foot apron offers protection from the elements, whilst making you child feel snug in their seat.
