The FamilyFix only requires the purchase of one base, which can be used for two consecutive age car seats: Maxi-Cosi Pebble or CabrioFix (baby/0-13kg) and Pearl (toddler/9-18kg). When your child is newborn, you can use the Pebble (Group 0+) infant car seat until around 12 months with the Family Fix base. Then as your baby outgrows the Pebble, you can then purchase the next stage seat, the pearl (Group 1) 9 – 18kg, which uses the same car seat base.
Maxi Cosi have developed the most hi-tech and state-of-the-art IsoFix base around today, its LED light and sound system ensures correct fitting and maximum safety. The FamilyFix is also more than just a hi -tech isofix base, it’s an idea created and based on families needs, and to help make life a little bit simpler.
The Base itself has a fancy looking LED display on the front. The idea of the LED display, is that it eliminates incorrect fitting of either the Maxi Cosi Pebble or Pearl car seats, and ensures absolute safety for your child. The display uses a simple and easy light and sound indication system for parents or carers to follow.
When you come to fit your car seat to the Family Fix base, you will need to look out for the different lights on the display panel and understand what they mean. The first green light you see on the display signals the correct fit of the base onto the IsoFix anchoring points in the car. The second light confirms that the support leg has been clicked into the right height and position. The support leg is of great importance, as it not only adds support to the base itself, but also limits the rotation of the base in case of an accident. Finally, the third green light gives parents the all clear that the Maxi-Cosi Pebble (Group 0+) or Pearl (Group 1) car seat has clicked securely onto the base.After you have gone through the simple 3 green lights and one beep, you can have peace of mind that you have fitted the car seat correctly to ensure your little one is as safe as possible.
The FamilyFix base has a unique extra reline system which can be used with both the Maxi Cosi Pebble and Pearl. The FamilyFix offers an additional position to the car seats themselves, allowing an extra recline position for the child in the Pearl and a more upright sitting position for the baby in the Pebble for extra leg room.
